SKIN GUIDE
What is acne?

Acne is a common skin condition where pores become clogged and inflamed, causing pimples, blackheads, and sometimes deeper lesions. The skin condition can affect both men and women of all ages.

Acne is characterized by clogged and inflamed pores, leading to various types of skin lesions. Common signs include:

  • Comedones (blackheads or whiteheads)
  • Red, inflamed pimples
  • Pustules
  • Deeper, sometimes painful nodules or cysts

Acne most often occurs in areas with high sebum production, such as the face, back, and chest, and can range from mild to more severe forms.

Acne does not occur because the skin is unclean, but is triggered by several factors working together in the skin. Hormonal changes can increase sebum production, which causes pores to become clogged more easily by sebum and dead skin cells. This creates an environment where bacteria thrive and inflammation can occur.

Factors such as stress, lifestyle, and certain skincare products can also have an impact. How the skin reacts is individual, but with the right skincare, it is often possible to soothe and balance the skin.

Acne is often divided into acne vulgaris and acne tarda. Acne vulgaris is the most common form and often appears during adolescence, linked to hormonal changes that increase sebum production. It manifests as blackheads, whiteheads, and sometimes inflamed lesions. Acne tarda, or adult acne, primarily affects adults and is more common in women. It can be more persistent and is often linked to hormonal fluctuations, stress, and lifestyle factors.

Do you have hormonal acne?

What our customers think

So far the best I've used!

I have primarily had issues with open and closed comedones, but also acne on my cheeks and jawline. This, combined with dry and sensitive skin in parts of my face. But seriously, this serum has made such a difference! Blackheads and pimples are largely gone and my skin has a glow it didn't have before.

Azeretinal Concentrate

Saved my skin

Saved my reactive and sensitive skin!! I've had some kind of imbalance for a long time and almost all skincare products started to sting my skin. I've only used it for a few days and it feels so good!

Tribiotic Concentrate

More balanced skin

Now on my second package - it has worked wonderfully on my skin! I've previously had trouble finding a face cream that doesn't clog pores or give me acne. But this one is great, it absorbs nicely, moisturizes, makes the skin more balanced and less reactive :)

Very good

I really like this one. I have problems with hormonal acne and I think this has really reduced pores, reduced the appearance of pimples, and made those that do appear much less angry. Will continue to use!

Azeretinal Concentrate

Frequently asked questions

  • Azeretinal Concentrate should only be used in the evening because retinal is broken down by the sun.

  • Yes, Azeretinal Concentrate should be mixed with your moisturizer before application.

  • We recommend that you initially use the concentrate 2-3 times a week and gradually increase depending on how well your skin tolerates the product.

  • We recommend keeping your routine simple to avoid overloading it with unnecessary ingredients and actives. Avoid combining Azeretinal Concentrate with other retinoids, strong exfoliating acids and products high in vitamin C.

  • Yes, the concentrate should be stored in the refrigerator but can also last up to 2 weeks outside the refrigerator without losing its effectiveness.

  • If you have more frequent and severe acne breakouts with redness, uneven skin texture and inflamed pimples, Azeretinal Concentrate is a better choice. If you have oily skin with occasional pimples, Azelaic Concentrate is a better choice.

  • Yes, since retinal is an active ingredient that also affects skin elasticity and counteracts fine lines but also has a positive effect on acne-prone skin, this concentrate is very suitable if you want both of these effects.

  • In a clinical study, 92% of participants found the product to be gentle, despite its high-performance active ingredients. Some users may experience mild and transient reactions such as dryness, a slight stinging sensation or tightness during the first few weeks. This is normal when introducing retinal and usually subsides as the skin adjusts. Introduce the product slowly and see how your skin reacts. If you would like advice, please book a digital consultation with our skin therapist.

  • No, we would not recommend that. Retinal Concentrate contains, in addition to retinal, several other active ingredients that have a positive effect on the skin. It contains, for example, vitamin C, niacinamide and acetyl glucosamine, which together with retinal make Retinal Concentrate a very complete product for those who want to increase elasticity, reduce fine lines, reduce pigmentation and enlarged pores. Azeretinal Concentrate contains the active ingredients retinal and azelaic acid, specially selected to have an effect on acne-prone skin.

  • We do not recommend Azeretinal Concentrate if you have rosacea, as the product contains the active ingredient retinal, which may be too active for reactive skin. For you, our concentrate Azelaic Concentrate is a better fit. It contains azelaic acid, which reduces redness and counteracts the bacteria that can contribute to rosacea. Use it together with our moisturizer Derma Emulsion, which soothes irritated and red skin.
