The involuntary contractor
My journey as an entrepreneur and founder of Skinome began already in my childhood when I was affected by the pigment disease vitiligo and it was during this time that my fascination with the skin was awakened. This interest eventually led me to the skin care industry where I worked as a research leader and innovation manager, with a particular focus on active ingredients and the skin's microbiome. During my years in the industry, the idea of fresh skin care developed when I realized that this is the only possibility to both guarantee effect and at the same time strengthen the skin's microbiome, which we have recently understood is crucial for good skin health. Going from full-time researcher to entrepreneur was not something I had dreamed of but in the end I had to take the plunge – the passion for the skin and developing products that actually put the health of the skin first became too great and this became the beginning of Skinome.
