Always forward through our research

At Skinome we are driven by the desire for new knowledge and with our research we build increased understanding and knowledge about the skin and the interaction with our microorganisms. The products we develop are always based on the latest research where we put your skin in focus and first place.

Our research

The majority of our research is conducted in our own laboratory in Hornstull, Stockholm, but also in close collaboration with universities, clinics, and other research partners. We believe in open science and therefore share our results through scientific publications, international conferences, and here on our website – so that you, as a customer, can access the research behind our products.

Freshly made skincare for optimal skin health
The purpose of the research and development we conduct is to find and evaluate new innovative solutions for better skin health. Our studies have shown that preservatives and traditional skincare have a negative impact on the skin's microbiome and general skin health compared to Skinome's skincare.

Our patent applications

Our products are not built on trends, but on research we conduct ourselves – research that is both published and forms the basis of our patent applications. This means you can trust that every innovation is unique, thoroughly tested and developed with your skin's best interests at heart. Learn more about why our research and technologies matter so much to us, and how they make a difference for you and your skin.

OUR PROBIOTIC STUDIES

Over the past decade, research on the microbiome has transformed our understanding of health and skincare. We now know that the skin harbors trillions of microorganisms that play a fundamental role in the skin's barrier function, immune defense, and aging process.

Research into how probiotics in the gut affect health is relatively well-established – but knowledge of how live bacteria work directly on the skin is still in its infancy. It's a young field, and we are in its early stages.
