Behind every Skinome product is a dedicated research team led by Johanna Gillbro, skin researcher and founder , and Ulf Åkerström, CIO – two driving forces that unite science, innovation and passion for skin health in the creation of the skin care of the future.
Johanna Gillbro, PhD in experimental dermatology, is one of Sweden's most prominent skin researchers. With over 20 years of experience in dermatology, clinical research and product development, she has developed several patents on innovative and active ingredients that support the skin microbiome.
As a specialist in skin health, the skin microbiome and the skin disease vitiligo, she has become a frequent speaker at international conferences and the most cited author in the International Journal of Cosmetics over the past ten years. Below you will find a selection of her research studies.

With over 20 years of experience, Ulf is one of Sweden's most experienced experts in skin research and innovative product development. Ulf has held several leadership roles at some of Sweden's largest skin care companies, including Hardford AB and ACO Hud Nordic AB, where he led research and development of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and medical devices.
