Our products are not based on trends, but on research we conduct ourselves, which is both published and patented. This means that you as a customer can trust that each innovation is unique, carefully tested and developed for the best of your skin. Here you can read more about why our studies and technologies mean so much to us and how they make a difference for you and your skin.
When an innovation is “patent pending,” it means that it has undergone extensive review by several independent researchers and is now approved for patent application , an important step that demonstrates that the technology is unique, new, and advanced enough to be protected by a patent.
For us at Skinome, “patent pending” means that our research results and formulations have been deemed so innovative that they could lead to a granted patent. “Patent pending” is proof that you as a customer are receiving genuine innovation, developed in our own lab, tested in our studies and now undergoing patent examination to be protected as a technology that has no equivalent in traditional skincare.
Studies we have conducted clearly show that preservative-free skincare results in greater microbial diversity on the skin and better skin health with fewer skin problems. We have therefore developed an innovative self-preserving system that we use in our products instead of preservatives.
Preservatives are designed to inhibit bacterial growth but do not distinguish between bad and good bacteria and can therefore also inhibit good bacteria on the skin, the important microbiome. The fact that our patent application for this self-preserving system has been approved is a confirmation of its uniqueness and level of innovation.
Patent number: EP4413972A1
Our second patent protects our innovative water-free carrier technology used in Retinal Concentrate. The technology means that unstable actives, such as retinal and vitamin C, are kept stable until they are activated by mixing with a face cream containing water. This “mix-activation” provides a fresh, active combination with maximum effect and minimal irritation.

What does publications mean?
A scientific publication means that our research is reviewed by independent experts, assessed for methodology, results and credibility, and then accepted for publication in a scientific journal. Having your study results published in scientific journals is an important seal of quality, but something that far from all research companies receive.
Publications show that our study results hold up even when subjected to critical scrutiny, and that our innovations and research contribute to new knowledge that benefits not only our customers, but the entire research field.
