Boost your skin with our concentrates - a guide

There are several reasons why you should include one of our concentrates in your skin care routine. The main one is that it is an effective way to increase the moisture content of the skin, while with the help of several active ingredients you get benefits such as reduced redness, smoother skin, more even skin tone and a reduction of wrinkles and fine lines. In our range today we have three different concentrates - Probiotic Concentrate, Night Active Retinol and Night Active Control. They are developed for different needs and to partially provide different effects. The type of skin and the needs of your skin determine which concentrate you should choose. In this short guide, we want to help you choose the right one.

Probiotic Concentrate

Who should use Probiotic Concentrate? You who have sensitive, normal, dry or mature skin and want to strengthen the barrier function, balance the skin flora and improve the skin texture.

Probiotic Concentrate is the first skin care product developed in Sweden that contains probiotics, i.e. live lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus Reuteri). Each bottle contains 160 billion good bacteria and the formulation is developed for normal to dry skin and is also suitable for sensitive skin. In our own clinical study, the participants already after 3 weeks received a more diverse microbiome and thus a skin in better balance along with improved skin texture. The product is also suitable for a more mature skin type as fine results have also been demonstrated on fine lines.

It is a minimalist formulation with only six ingredients that care, soften and create a skin-like layer thanks to the chemical structure of certain ingredients that improve the skin's hydration and barrier function.

Probiotic Concentrate can be used both morning and evening. Once a day is enough, but if you feel the need for additional moisture during the day, you can also mix with your moisturizer in the morning.

Probiotic Concentrate is dermatologically tested for sensitive skin in an external testing laboratory. It is a cosmetic product and not a medical product, but we still want to mention that in our own clinical study, about 30 percent of the participants (a total of 32 people participated in the study) stated that they were diagnosed with eczema or atopic eczema and the product worked very well for them.

Night Active Retinol

Who should use Night Active Retinol? You who have normal, dry or mature skin and want to strengthen the barrier function, get plenty of hydration and prevent and reduce signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles and uneven pigmentation.

Night Active Retinol contains a high percentage of active ingredients with scientifically proven effects. In our own clinical study, we have seen that the product produces smoother skin, less fine lines and fewer wrinkles. This concentrate contains skin-specific retinol (0.06%) which affects collagen formation in the skin, which gives the skin more elasticity and support. We use skin-specific retinol as it has such a small molecular size that it can penetrate the skin.

Night Active Retinol acts as a real moisture bomb for your skin thanks to ingredients such as acetyl-glucosamine, which is the building block of hyaluronic acid and which binds moisture and therefore increases the moisture content in the skin. Niacinamide contributes to a more even skin tone and zinc ascorbate helps to reduce irregular pigmentation.

Use Night Active Retinol in the evening as it contains retinol and this ingredient is light sensitive.

Night Active Retinol is dermatologically tested in an external testing laboratory. Since the formulation contains a high percentage of active substances such as retinol, the product is not recommended for you with hypersensitive skin, then choose Probiotic Concentrate. If, however, you do not have sensitive skin, you can if you want to combine Night Active Retinol with Probiotic Concentrate, for example if you need extra moisture during the day and want to add Probiotic Concentrate to your moisturizer in the morning.

Either you use Probiotic Concentrate in the morning and Night Active Retinol in the evening. If you prefer to use the concentrate only in the evening, take 1 pump of Probiotic Concentrate and one pump of Night Active Retinol and mix into your moisturizer for the evening. It also works well to alternate use so that you use Probiotic Concentrate and Night Active Retinol every other night. This also applies to Night Active Control.

Night Active Control

Who should use Night Active Control? You who have combination skin (ie normal/dry but with oily parts), oily or acne-prone skin and want to strengthen the barrier function, reduce pore size and control sebum production. It is also suitable for mature skin as it contains retinol which prevents and reduces signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles and uneven pigmentation.

Night Active Control is a very light formulation that contains a high proportion of active and skin-friendly ingredients such as zinc, bisabolol, lecithin, squalane, lactobionic acid and skin-friendly retinol (0.1%). We use skin-specific retinol as it has such a small molecular size that it can penetrate the skin. The formulation strengthens the skin barrier, improves skin texture and increases skin firmness as well as moisturizes the skin and counteracts irritation and redness. Prebiotics nourish the skin microbiome to balance the skin flora. Night Active Control helps to control sebum production, works to reduce pores and has a smoothing effect.

Night Active Control is dermatologically tested in an external testing laboratory. As the formulation contains a high proportion of active substances such as retinol, the product is not recommended for you with hypersensitive skin. If you have combination, oily or acne-prone skin and are very sensitive, please contact us at info@skinome.se and we can give an individual recommendation if you want to add a concentrate to your Skinome routine.
